Siteplore for Manufacturing FAQ

Do we need to replace our existing PLC, DCS or SCADA?

Not necessarily. Siteplore is intended to complement existing systems where appropriate. Existing automation data can be evaluated as potential data sources, while additional sensors or edge devices can address monitoring gaps that are not currently covered.

Can Siteplore use our existing electrical meters?

Potentially yes. Existing meters can be assessed for communication interface, available registers, protocol compatibility and the electrical parameters required by the monitoring objective.

Is Siteplore an MES?

Siteplore should not be considered a replacement for a full Manufacturing Execution System unless a specific future implementation is developed for that role. Its current positioning is industrial monitoring, data integration, analytics and decision support.

Is Siteplore a CMMS?

No. Siteplore focuses on monitoring and analytical visibility. Maintenance-management functions such as work orders, planning and maintenance history may remain within the customer’s existing CMMS or EAM system.

Can we connect machine data and energy data together?

Yes where the relevant data sources can be integrated. For example, condition information can potentially be reviewed alongside electrical loading or operating-state data to provide additional context.

Can Siteplore calculate energy per unit of production?

Potentially yes when reliable energy data and compatible production-output data are available. The data source, time alignment and calculation logic should be defined during engineering.

Can MachineGuard replace our vibration analyst?

No. MachineGuard provides connected condition trends, early-warning information and analytical support. Detailed machinery diagnosis may still require appropriate diagnostic data and competent engineering review.

Can Siteplore automatically shut down a machine?

Siteplore monitoring products should not be assumed to provide safety-critical or machinery-protection shutdown functions. Those functions require dedicated, appropriately engineered protection and control systems.

Do we need to monitor the entire factory?

No. A focused deployment is often preferable. Start with a critical machine, high-consumption area, utility system or clear monitoring gap and expand after the operational value has been demonstrated.

Can Siteplore support multiple factories?

A multi-site architecture can be considered where connectivity, data structure, access requirements and platform configuration support the intended deployment.

Does every manufacturing deployment use AI?
