The Energy Visibility Problem

The electricity bill tells you how much you used. It rarely tells you why.

Industrial and commercial facilities can consume significant electrical energy through production equipment, utilities, HVAC, pumps, compressors and other loads. Without granular monitoring, abnormal demand, inefficient operating patterns and unexpected energy consumption may remain hidden inside the total monthly bill.

01

Limited Energy Visibility

Main utility billing provides total consumption, but may not explain which process, building, asset or operating period is driving it.

02

Distributed Electrical Data

Electrical meters may already exist across panels and equipment but remain locally viewed, manually recorded or isolated from analytics.

03

Problems Seen Too Late

Demand changes, load imbalance, declining power factor or unusual consumption may only become visible after operational consequences or monthly review.

How PowerWatch Works

From electrical measurement to operational context.

PowerWatch connects compatible electrical measurement devices into Siteplore so energy and electrical data can be monitored as time-series information rather than isolated readings.

01 — MEASURE

Electrical Metering

Compatible meters capture electrical and energy parameters at the required points.

02 — CONNECT

Edge & Communication

Field data is collected and transported toward the centralized monitoring environment.

03 — ANALYZE

Siteplore Platform

Measurements become dashboards, trends, comparisons and monitoring logic.

04 — ACT

Operational Decision

Energy and electrical information supports investigation, prioritization and improvement.

Electrical Parameters

Monitor more than total kWh.

Available parameters depend on the installed meter or measurement instrument. PowerWatch can be engineered around the information required for each application.

V

Voltage

Monitor available voltage measurements and historical behavior across selected points.

A

Current

Observe loading patterns and compare current behavior across equipment or feeders.

kW

Active Power

Understand actual electrical power demand and how it changes during operation.

kWh

Energy

Track cumulative consumption and compare periods, areas or selected equipment.

PF

Power Factor

Observe power-factor behavior where supported by the connected measurement device.

Hz

Frequency

Monitor frequency information where available from compatible metering equipment.

kVA

Apparent Power

Compare electrical loading with the available equipment or distribution capacity.

PQ

Extended Electrical Parameters

Additional parameters can be incorporated where supported by suitable metering or monitoring devices.

Measurement availability and accuracy depend on the selected instrument, CT/PT arrangement, wiring, communication interface, configuration and installation requirements. PowerWatch does not replace electrical protection or certified revenue metering unless specifically engineered with appropriate equipment for that purpose.

From Data to Investigation

Good monitoring should help your team ask better questions.

PowerWatch is designed to make electrical and energy behavior easier to investigate with evidence rather than relying only on monthly totals or isolated readings.

When does our peak demand actually occur? Review load profiles by time, operating period and monitored area.
Which area is consuming more energy? Compare selected meters, assets, feeders or locations.
Why did consumption increase this week? Use historical trends and operational context to support investigation.
Is equipment consuming energy when it should not? Identify unexpected operating-period consumption and abnormal load patterns.
Are we operating close to electrical capacity? Compare available loading information against applicable engineering limits and ratings.
Is power factor changing with operating condition? Trend available PF data where supported by the installed measurement device.
Example PowerWatch Workflow

From a meter reading to an energy improvement opportunity.

The objective is not simply to collect more electrical data. The objective is to understand where attention and investigation may create operational value.

Frequently Asked Questions

PowerWatch FAQ

Is PowerWatch an electrical protection system?

No. PowerWatch is intended for monitoring, historical analysis and decision support. It does not replace protective relays, circuit breakers or other electrical protection systems.

Can PowerWatch use our existing digital power meters?

Potentially yes. Existing meters can be evaluated for compatible communication interfaces, protocols, register availability and access. Compatibility should be confirmed before deployment.

What electrical parameters can PowerWatch monitor?

Typical parameters may include voltage, current, active power, apparent power, power factor, frequency and energy. The actual parameters depend entirely on the capabilities of the connected meter.

Can PowerWatch monitor power quality?

Power-quality-related monitoring depends on the measurement equipment used. Detailed events, harmonics or disturbance analysis require suitable instruments and an appropriately engineered architecture. PowerWatch should not be assumed to provide all power-quality functions with every meter.

Can we monitor several electrical panels?

Yes, the architecture can be expanded to multiple compatible meters and measurement points where communication, infrastructure and system capacity requirements are appropriately engineered.

Can PowerWatch compare energy between production lines?

Yes, where suitable measurement points exist. Separate metering can allow energy trends to be compared between selected lines, buildings, equipment groups or operating areas.

Does PowerWatch automatically reduce our electricity bill?

No monitoring platform can guarantee energy savings by itself. PowerWatch provides visibility and evidence that can help teams identify and investigate opportunities. Actual savings depend on the findings, operational changes and improvement actions implemented.

Can PowerWatch connect energy consumption with production?

Where suitable production or operational data is available, the architecture can be developed to evaluate energy information within production context. The required data integration should be assessed for each application.

How should we start?

Start with an electrical or energy question that matters: a high-consumption area, important feeder, utility system, large equipment or unexplained demand. Rekacipta can then assess the existing meters, required measurement points, connectivity and Siteplore configuration.

You already know how much electricity you buy. Do you know where it goes?

Start with a PowerWatch site assessment. Rekacipta can help evaluate your electrical architecture, existing meters, important measurement points, communication requirements and a practical path toward connected electrical and energy monitoring.
